Fidelitas Winery
Benton City, WA
"Top 100 Wineries" Wine & Spirit Magazine
With over 19 years of experience under his belt, Fidelitas owner and winemaker, Charlie Hoppes, has gained a depth of understanding few others will ever achieve. He’s crafted more wines in a single vintage than most winemakers will touch in a lifetime. He knows his growers. He knows their vines. Most important, he knows how to get his hands on exceptional fruit and transform it into something uniquely his own. He’s a roll-up-your-sleeves type of guy, fair and authentic—and that authenticity comes through in the wines he crafts. Faithful. Loyal. True. That’s Charlie. And that’s Fidelitas
Gifford-Hirlinger Winery
Walla Walla, WA
Gifford Hirlinger is a small family owned operation that started way back in 2001. It was in that year that the Berghan family purchased and began Berghan Vineyards in the heart of the Walla Walla Valley. It started out simply enough, growing grapes and selling them to local wineries. But after a couple of years they decided to complicate their lives by getting into the winemaking aspect of the business… resulting in Gifford Hirlinger. We know it’s a long and hard to pronounce name, but it actually means something to us! We thought our family was new to the Walla Walla area, but as it turns out we have somewhat of a history here. On both sides of the Berghan family, we have a direct ancestor who was born in Walla Walla when their families crossed the country in covered wagons in the mid 1800’s. So, Gifford and Hirlinger were the last names of those relatives on the paternal and maternal sides respectively.

Hightower Cellars
Benton City, WA
Handpicked - Handsorted - Handmade is the motto and method for Hightower Cellars. Two energetic, twenty-something Seattlites launched Hightower Cellars with an idealistic fantasy of creating an exceptional, high-quality wine that would enhance enjoyment of everyday life. Renting a non-descript warehouse space in Woodinville--former home to a few prominent wineries in Washington State--the young couple dove into their dream while keeping their day jobs. Months of hands-on cellar rat work and diligent research in their free time paid off with ovations of their inaugural release of 1997 Cabernet Sauvignon. Case production steadily increased from 220 to 1200 cases over the next six years, along with a purchase of pristine vinifera-worthy real estate on Red Mountain, complete with water rights-a rare & unusual find in a Washington agricultural region. Kelly & Tim Hightower, one of Washington State's first married co-winemakers, compose delicious, supple, age-worthy Merlots and Cabernet Sauvignons from a wide array of vineyards in three distinct appellations.

Carol Shelton Winery
WIndsor, CA
Carol Shelton, winemaker and co-owner of Carol Shelton Wines, has an impressive résumé…she was the “secret” behind many great wines of recent years. The wines she made during her 19-year term at Windsor Vineyards garnered more medals in major competitions than wines made by any other winemaker in America, leading Carol to the title of "Most Awarded Winemaker" for 12 out of 15 years.
With the new millennium as stimulus for change, Carol left Windsor in early 2000 to pursue the dream of making her own ultra-premium wines, forming Carol Shelton Wines with her husband, Mitch Mackenzie. Their goal is to create small lots from carefully selected vineyards, based on Carol’s 28 years of experience with grapes from all over California. This has resulted in the creation of four limited-production Zinfandels under the “Carol Shelton” brand name. These wines have already drawn great acclaim from critics and competitions alike. In 2004 alone, the four Zins from 2002 garnered an amazing 16 Gold medals and two Best of Show awards. She is particularly proud that the 2001 Karma Zin was the single most awarded red wine in the nation in 2003!
Carol is based in Sonoma County where she continues to pursue her passion to create wines that promise to make Carol Shelton Wines one of the great Zinfandel producers. In 2004 she returned to the Board of Directors of ZAP (Zinfandel Advocates and Producers), where she previously served as Secretary for several years. She has been dubbed the “Queen of Zin,” a title she promises to live up to as best she can!.

Salvestrin Estate Winery
St. Helena, CA
The Salvestrin Vineyard is located on the south end of St. Helena west of Highway 29 in an area renowned for red wine grape production. The estate encompasses 26 acres within the city limits of St. Helena. Originally planted in the 1860’s by Dr. George Crane this historic vineyard was one of the first wine grape plantings in the Napa Valley.
For many years, we sold all our grapes to leading Napa Valley wineries such as Freemark Abbey, Raymond, Rombauer, Robert Biale and Rutherford Hill, which turned them into award-winning wines. In 1994, we began making our own wines from a portion of our estate vineyard, so we could control every aspect of the grape growing and winemaking process. In 2001, we completed construction of a new winery on the estate, which enables us to combine state-of-the-art technology with traditional old-world methods to produce a small quantity of handcrafted Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese, Retaggio (Red Blend), Sauvignon Blanc, and coming soon.....Petite Sirah.
Cabernet Sauvignon, the "king" of red wines, is a variety ideally suited to our vineyard's gravelly, volcanic soils and warm, dry microclimate. Our fully ripened cabernet grapes produce rich, complex, flavorful red wines boasting a silky texture and lush berry and cherry fruit flavors. Aging in French and American oak barrels further enriches and refines these delicious, world-class wines, which have earned many accolades.

Summerland Winery
Summerland, CA
Like many children raised in Iskenderun, Turkey, Nebil “Bilo” Zarif’s introduction to fine wine began at a young age. It became a lifelong education that has developed into a way of living. His passion for fine and rare wines began in France where he was introduced to the regions of Bordeaux, Burgundy and Rhone Valley while studying in Paris. He would often accompany friends to the legendary First Growths of Pauillac and to his favorite producers in St.-Emilion and Pomerol. As he learned more about California wines and the people that were producing them, Zarif became convinced that his future in the wine industry would be revealed in the diverse growing regions of the Central Coast. In 1994, Zarif acquired 30 acres of land in the Cuyama Valley, a serene high elevation region of Santa Barbara County. Over the course of seven years he would expand Barnwood Vineyards to encompass more than 2,000 acres with 800 acres planted to vine. It was during this same period that Zarif’s passion for wine would lead him to acquire the renowned Maison Deutz winery in San Luis Obispo County with a partner he had met in the energy industries. Together they expanded this property to approximately 800 acres of planted vine and raised the stature of their Pinot Noir bearing the name Laetitia Vineyard & Winery. His most notable contributions to the California wine industry include planting the highest elevation commercial vineyards in the state which are by far the warmest and most conducive climate in Santa Barbara County for Rhone and Bordeaux varietals. He also was of one the first in California to plant the Spanish varietal Tempranillo and to implement the many Dijon clones of Pinot Noir found in the state of the art vineyards that he developed at Laetitia. Zarif’s vision to transform the former sparkling wine facility to that of a world recognized Pinot Noir producer became a reality at the 2001 Vinexpo when his 1999 Laetitia Pinot Noir Reserve received the Silver Medal in the prestigious Challenge du Vin. In 2001 Zarif sold his interests in Barnwood/ Laetitia to pursue new and exciting possibilities, most notably Summerland Winery. Drawing upon years of experience in the region, Summerland is dedicated to offering the best of the wine producing areas spanning from Santa Barbara to Monterey.

X Winery

The brand was created to fill a niche that the winery identified as an underserved market.
The winery utilizes new technologies along with traditional winemaking to produce wines that have the texture and traditional flavor profile of wines that normally cost two to three times the price.
